My job the other day was simple; all I had to do was rake
the leaves in the very front of the church. For some reason the front doors of our church are a meeting place for
all the fallen leaves in Sacramento.I kid you not; they pile up in front of the
doors like they had all agreed to meet there.
So I went to get my little rake and prepared to do battle
with them.I was out numbered but I was
confident that I could rid myself of this plague. With a little effort I could make the front
of the church beautiful once again!I
want you to know that I was with in inches of having everyone of those leaves
out to the very street they had come from, and then it happened. The strongest, the biggest whirlwind ever
recorded in the city of Sacramento
blew into the church yard!Every one of
those little leaves blew right past me into the church yard once again. Not only that but they also had the audacity
to go right past me into the front door of the church and down the center
aisle.
I knew then that I had few options.I could try to rake them back.I could spray them with water and call it a
baptismal effort.I could close the
front doors and lock them, trapping, the little varmints.
Suddenly it dawned on me.These were Gods leaves, this was Gods wind, If He wanted these fellows
leaves in church it was not my fault! Are you to busy for church?Do
you have too much to do before Christmas?Be very careful!I want to tell
you about a strong wind, a big wind that is blowing around the church here at
Church of the Cross. The front doors are
open and you will get blown right down the center aisle! However, know this, you will not be
alone!This Christmas season there will
be many who will feel the wind of God in this place. Please come and join our whirlwind for Jesus
Christ our Savior.Come be one of our
leaves!
